December is here, which means holiday celebrations galore! But with holiday celebrations comes seemingly endless to-do lists and shopping lists. Luckily, Manulife Centre’s one-stop shops and services have everything you need to get holiday-ready.
From fashion and electronics to all of your holiday hosting essentials, we’ve got you covered. Get your shopping done at Manulife Centre this season for an unmatched experience.
Gift Wrapping at Manulife Centre
Give more with your gifts this season by having them wrapped here. Starting December 9th, Manulife Centre will wrap your gifts in support of the Children’s Aid Foundation. For purchases not made a Manulife Centre, we are accepting donations of $5 (small gift), $10 (medium gift), $15 (large gift) or $20 (extra large gift.) Plus, receive complimentary gift wrapping for your Manulife Centre purchases. Find our gift wrapping station on the Concourse Level near Guest Services from December 9th – 24th.
Mail your packages, drop off your dry cleaning and check all of your errands off your list. With many of our services all located in our Concourse Lounge, you can truly get everything done, all in one place.
Complimentary Valet Parking
Starting Monday, December 4th we are offering Complimentary Valet Parking in our parking garage! Simply enter our garage via Charles Street and follow signage on P1 to the Valet Services Booth. We will then park your car for you so you can tackle your to-do list without spending valuable time searching for a spot. As always, you can get 2 hours of parking free with a purchase of $25 or more at any of our retailers. Simply validate your parking at Guest Services on the Concourse Level before you go.
Treat yourself at the salon or the movies, and enjoy a warm holiday atmosphere. With great places to eat and Toronto’s best movie theatre, a visit to Manulife Centre also makes for a relaxing holiday afternoon.
Holiday Entertainment
We are excited to welcome back to the Centre the talented a cappella trio from Countermeasure Music. On the following dates the trio will be roving Manulife Centre, singing the classics and spreading cheer!
Saturday, December 16th, 12pm-3pm
Sunday, December 17th, 1pm-4pm
Friday, December 22nd, 5pm-8pm
The Steve Koven Duo will also be on site during the holidays, this time in our Concourse Lounge. Catch them on the following dates:
Thursday, December 21st, 12pm to 2pm.
Friday, December 22nd, 2pm to 5pm
Saturday, December 23rd, 12pm to 2pm
Sunday, December 24th, 12pm to 2pm
Happy holidays to all of our guests. We hope to see you at Manulife Centre this season, where you can get Decked & Prepped, all in one place.
Errands? In the winter? Ugh. You’d probably rather just stay cozy and warm under a blanket or curled up by the fire. Fortunately, we make doing what you have to do easy because Manulife Centre is one-stop get’er done. You can buy groceries from Bloor Street Market, drop off your LBD (that’s little black dresses) at Parker’s Cleaners, get Roy to fix your shoes, stock up at the LCBO and Indigo gift cards, and do your drug store run at Pharma Plus next door.
The thing about drug stores is that most people go in knowing exactly what they want. But if you take some time to look around, the product rage is actually pretty amazing. That’s what we did the other day at Pharma Plus. Here’s what caught our eye.
#5 KIT Argan Cuticle Oil
Winter’s been doing a number on our cuticles around here. We went looking for relief and came up with Rexall-brand Argan oil. 100% natural and paraben-free. And it absorbs really quickly so no mess. Fingers never felt smoother.
#4 Meet Matt(e) Nude
This eye shadow’s palette has nine (nine!) different shades of nude. This means that no matter what your skin tone is, you can find the right match — and go lighter or darker depending on your look.
#3 Be.better Oblipicha Hair Mask
This is another Rexall exclusive brand. We were drawn to the name. We’ve since learned “Oblipicha” means sea-buckthorn oil, and that we’ll be buying more Be.better in the future. They do soaps, sun care and a pretty fabulous beeswax.
#2 Vasanti Power Oils Lip Gloss
Most lip glosses are sticky. Not this one. Smooth and hydrating — perfect for winter chapped lips. Plus, it has the colour and vibrancy of a lipstick. We like the Deep Brown Berry.
#1 Marcelle Sheer Tint Fluid Moisturizer SPF 15
Better than a foundation because ¾ again ¾ winter. And this one banishes dry skin and provides SPF protection. They come in three to five shades you can mix to match your skin tone.
Good for you. Someone in every family has to step up, and whether it’s your choice or your turn, you’re doing right by the people you love. Doesn’t get more Christmas-y than that.
On the flipside, hosting is stressful. So we put together a 45-minute plan visit to Manulife Centre for the express purpose of receiving stress.
Stop #1: Parker’s Cleaners (5 min)
Picking an outfit in advance will make the day-of so much easier, and help you avoid the closet-vomit on your bed. Bring your choice in for a dry clean so it’s perfectly pressed for the occasion. We recommend leaving it in the plastic wrapping until the big day.
Stop #2: LCBO (10 min)
Your ideal wine pairing will be less than ideal if the LCBO’s sold out of what you want. Stock up early so you’re good to go with no “uh-oh’s.” And for those guests who prefer shots to chardonnays, you can take the opportunity to refill your liquor cabinet. And don’t leave without a bottle of Bailey’s.
Stop #3: Indigo (10 min)
Every family has two people who can’t sit together, whether they’re too immature when they’re in close proximity or they’re just too shmoopy with each other. Table cards are a great way to avoid this. Indigo has a style for every setting. And while you’re there, you can spend a minute or two in the cooking section to get inspired.
Stop #4: William Ashley (10 min)
Yes, your food will make the event, but your table will set the tone for the evening. And nobody puts dinner decor together better than Ashley’s. Walk through the showroom for a few ideas, and take a few pictures so you know exactly what you’re doing the morning of. Also, have a look at the centrepieces in the under-$100 section. You may find exactly what you’re missing.
Stop #5: The Varsity Theatre (5 min)
Movie passes make the best stocking stuffers. Anyone can use them and everyone has time over the holidays to catch a flick.
Stop #6: Guest services (5 min)
Don’t forget that you’ll get two hours of free parking if you spend $25 or more in the Centre in addition to the free holiday valet service. Just bring your parking ticket and your receipts to the guest services desk on the concourse level.
You’re best to execute this plan the week of December 12th, partly because it’ll give you time to relax before the event, but mostly because the Steve Koven Duo will be here setting the mood with some holiday jazz.
Enjoy the holiday season, and enjoy hosting!
We work hard every day to create an elegant, relaxed and well-curated experience for our visitors.
In December we take it up a notch.
Look for gifts, not spots.
We’re still offering two hours of free parking with a $25 purchase, but from December 8–23, we’re also pleased to offer free valet service.
Wrap for a cause.
Our gift-wrapping service is back on the Concourse level across from Guest Services from December 5th to 24th, and this year it’s in support of the Children’s Aid Foundation.
For gifts purchased outside the Centre, we’re accepting $5 donations for small gifts, $10 donations for medium-sized gifts, $15 donations for large gifts and $20 donations for extra large gifts. Wrapping is complimentary for purchases made here.
Gift wrapping is available from Monday to Friday from 10am-8pm, Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 12pm-5pm. On Christmas Eve, the wrapping station is open until 4pm.
Shop to a soundtrack.
We invited the Steve Koven Duo to set the mood with a mix of soft jazz and seasonal favourites. Look for them on Monday December 12 from 12pm—2pm, Tuesday and Wednesday (December 13 and 14) from 5pm–7pm, Thursday and Friday (December 15 and 16) from 12pm–2pm and Saturday December 17 from 3pm–5pm.
Do extra right by the people on your list.
We sent some stylish elves through the Centre to find the perfect gift for anyone. Then we put them all together in a small, portable holiday gift guide you can pick up at directory stands on every floor. You can pick up your copy starting the week of December 5th.
And, of course, take it all in.
Bloor Street’s amazing this time of year. There’s our tree, of course, and then there are the gorgeous holiday displays, festive lights, happy faces and holiday spirit from Yonge Street to Avenue Road. Grab a hot drink from Timothy’s or from the Starbucks in Indigo and stroll the strip in style.
Ho ho hope to see you here.
